the real me.

last week, Ali posted a link to Tonia’s “real me” post. I really enjoyed reading what Tania had to say about herself and it got me thinking about myself and my blog. she wrote about how she portrays herself as a perfect entity on her blog, with no negativity and no gray days. all weekend I thought about how I picture the girls who’s blogs I read, and how I have an image of each of them, viewed through what I read or see on their blog. there is something I envy about each one of them. whether they create, write, design, draw, cook, read, or photograph, each one of them has something uniquely special. then I started thinking, “what do these girls think about me?” so when I saw this post on Ali’s blog this morning, I was really excited. apparently, Tonia has tagged all of us, or anyone who has read her post, to confess something “real” about themselves. so, I’ve decided to take this tag, and run with it.
I’ll post five things, not so necessarily negative or gray, about me, that you may not know. I’ll start with two today, and finish up on Friday. hm…that gives me a great idea for list Friday!

the real me – 01.
I started playing the piano at the tender age of 5, tapping my little fingers on what seemed like giant keys at the time. I competed in piano solo at a local level for twelve consecutive years, earning superior ratings each year. by far my biggest accomplishment. though, after playing for thirteen years, I can’t even remember the last time that I sat down and placed my fingers atop the keys. and the most recent times I did, I couldn’t remember how to play half of what I used to know. now I’m dying for a piano.

the real me – 02.
though my blog is full of bright colorful clothes and accessories, when it comes to my wardrobe, I’m pretty simple. I dream about having a closet full of wonderful colorful clothing, though sometimes, it just makes more sense to purchase things that will last forever and withstand their fashionable style through the years. I like classic pieces, like black dresses, jeans, oxford shirts, crew neck sweaters, khaki shorts, and black high-heels. for example, today I’m wearing dark cuffed jeans, a white stretchy tee, my little yellow rose earrings from Emily, and light brown flip flops.

thanks Tonia, for being “real” and thanks Ali for tagging me! after reading this, consider yourself “tagged”.
