when I was in college, I wanted a pair of Camper Retro Trainers so badly. yet, sadly, I could not find them anywhere. I guess at that time, there wasn’t an online store that sold them and anyone I asked told me, they are only available in the UK. what a bummer.
now, not only do still I want those Brother’s Sport trainers, I’ve got my eyes on the Mary Jane Ballerina, Wedge-heel boots, and those oddly adorable Helena Ankle boots.
not to mention, the animation on their site is amazing.

I posted about the gorgeous books from Uppercase a little while ago. I noticed a link from Poppytalk this morning and had to check them out again. I can’t help but want this paint-by-number kit in my stocking this year. with 8 vintage inspired pictures, I would be content painting for hours.

Marybeth had a great idea when she searched for pictures on Flickr tagged with her name. I thought I’d give it a try. aside from the zillion photos of the same person dressed in a cat hoodie, I found some pretty cool ones. how awesome is that birthday cake?
try it for yourself!

thanks to everyone who’s already signed up for the in the moment mixed tape swap. it looks like we have a great mix of musical taste out there!
I noticed this morning, that a few of your emails had been directed to my spam mailbox. ugg… spam is not my friend, and I deleted a bunch of spam yesterday without looking at if there was any important things in there. I have replied to everyone that has signed up so far. therefore, if you have not gotten a reply from me, then I may not have gotten your email. {this may not even apply to anyone, but if it does, kindly send your information again!}
just a reminder, the deadline to sign up is Friday, November 30. can you believe it’s almost December already?

dlb wants this sweater for Christmas. I think it’d look hot on him.
I can’t help wishing it came in my size, too.

for my whole life, I’ve sort of despised that garnet was my birthstone. even in college, when my school colors were garnet and gold, I still could not stand the gem. for eighth grade graduation, my aunt and uncle gave me a pair of garnet stud earrings and a pendant necklace to match. for over ten years, those earrings sat in my jewelry stash, in the same strawberry shaped jewelry box that they were gifted to me in, with the price tag still tucked inside.
those are the same garnet earrings that I wear at least two or three times a week.
one day, I had an epiphany about garnet. I don’t know if it was my attempts to brighten up and enhance my attire, or maybe it was finally my acceptance of the garnet gemstone, but I literally decided in one day or so, that I liked garnets. {I’m sure it had a lot to do with the fact that dlb said he thought they were hot earrings… but hey, it was still my epiphany.}
so, just to let you know, I’m accepting of garnet now. and I like these.

snowy trees.
smiles and laughter.
stories about little dlb.
stillness. peace.
a part of me wishes I was still in Idaho.

Courtney posted about Crew Mutts today and I simply could not resist posting about them too. I can not get over how freaking cute this little guy is. leave it to J. Crew to find the cutest, most lovable puppies to photograph while debuting Crew Mutts.
now. if only I had a cute little puppy who slept in this doggie bed, that kept warm in these adorable sweaters.
