last winter I wasn’t really prepared at all for Portland winter. I didn’t know what to expect. coming from Florida where the heaviest piece of clothing I owned was a hooded sweatshirt from college which I still wore with flip flops, I had a lot to learn. of course I had warm clothes and a wool coat and socks but I really wasn’t prepared.
so this year, I’ve been making a list of things that I’d hope would make the chill a little less chilly. first up, hats. I quite like these styles, but I’m especially hunting a pretty vintage cloche.
{from urban outfitters}

i love these hats. i’ve been wanting one just like that first one. thanks for finding it! you saved me tons of time.
How funny. I am actually looking forward to the Portland winter since it will be better than the winter here.
(But I adore that first hat.)
Check out terrygraziano on etsy. i have a wish list about a mile long from that cutie little shop!
liz from mn (i understand cold weather!!)
ooo I am so jealous. Here in California were supposed to have temperatures in the 80′s this week. Blah.
I love hats, but I’m a bit too shy to wear them. I’ve tried different styles, lots of times but I never find one that suits me good enough. Too bad because I love them!
I am in the same boat, I'm from Florida (Tampa area) where it is muggy and sunny year round and am planning a trip to Baltimore.
The good news is, I have an excuse to buy a warm coat! I have my eyes on this super girly one:

Love the blue one. I went to school in Oregon and most definitely understand the need to stay warm…especially now that I’m back in Montana!
That’s funny. The outfit you described in EXACTLY what I was wearing the other day. With my precious five-year-old Reefs:
