guest blogger: oh so beautiful paper

Since Alyson’s big day is today, I thought I’d share a tiny bit of advice for any other newlyweds out there – write love letters.  My husband and I have been married for more than two years, and my husband still sends me little love notes every now and then.  The timing is totally random, and every time one shows up – either in our mailbox or as a note left on a pillow or desk top – I can’t help but smile.  My husband and I see each other every single day and it can be easy to get bogged down by all the things that go into daily life – cleaning our apartment, paying bills, running errands on the weekends.  These little notes are a sweet reminder of our love for each other and the fact that we chose to spend the rest of our lives together, both the fun parts and the not-so-fun parts.   I’ve kept every single note in a little box on my bedside table and every time I look through that box I realize all over again why he’s the perfect person for me.

Congratulations Alyson!

What a sweet sweet idea. My husband hates cards (I love them!) but I do tend to leave him post-it notes around the house at random times.
Love all your cards, so cute!

What a wonderful idea. I will have to start doing this. What a great way to let him know you still love him and appreciate him when life becomes hectic and full.

Your advice is excellent! One of the very best ways to keep a relationship exciting and vibrant is to let your partner know how much they mean to you, and love letters are a great way to do just that.
    And such pretty cards too!

I leave my bf little cards all the time, he says I’m silly but I love doing it and I think he secretly loves it!
