clock books

clock books

how cool are these vintage books, turned into clocks?  I’d love one for my book shelf!

{p.s.  we’re having some issues with our images mysteriously not showing up in google reader… we’re working to get that figured out, so thanks for your patience!}

heirloom bulbs

I’d love to plant some bulbs this year now that we actually have a pretty decent back yard.  {we’ve got anaheim peppers growing and our heirloom tomatoes are finally turning red!}  I don’t really know much about planting bulbs but I suppose now is the time.  these heirloom bulb varieties at Terrain are so pretty!  how wonderful would it be to see these bloom after waiting winter and most of spring?

scarf shop

scarf shop

I love Martha’s new Scarf Shop.  if you’ve ever owned one of her beautiful gossamer scarves, you know how amazing they are.  I’ve got a regular sized one in cayenne, but I’m quite in love with the giant size – it’s kind of like a blanket!  I’m thinking olive or rose.  what color would you get?

soft pretzels, pt 2

sorry for the brief disappearing act last week.  I stayed in bed on Friday a little under the weather.  I’d planned on doing my regular right this second post, but just didn’t get around to it.  Saturday morning I was feeling much better so I set out on a baking adventure to make some soft pretzels.

all I managed to take was this iPhone photo, but at least you get the point.  they were delicious in all their soft pretzel glory.  they were pretty easy to make and really really yummy.  we only burnt a couple {note: do not use cinnamon & sugar as a topping!}, gave a few to the neighbors and devoured the rest by last night.  you can see the recipe I used here.
