avarcas sandals
I love these Avarcas sandals. I’ve been pining over what color to order. naturally, I’m drawn to the boring black or brown ones but I’m dying to break out of my norm! what color would you get? they have shoes for dudes and kids, too!

Hi Alyson, it’s funny, few weeks ago I wrote a post about my “summer uniform” and this sandals are always included ( http://aroundminetta.blogspot.com.es/2012/07/its-friday.html ).
They’re originally from the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, where I live. I’ve had many, in different colors but I always fall for the natural color ones.
Did you know the originals are still handmade and the sole is made from pneumatics?
I’m glad to know they’re getting international…

In Spain, these sandals are called mayorquinas or menorquinas (because as Alex said above they are supposed to be from the Balearic Islands). In Barcelona where I live, I see them everywhere and both women and men sport them!
