currently coveting…
I’ve been obsessing over these Ghana bolga baskets for quite awhile now. I finally ordered a few yesterday {after a little prodding by Wolf’s current toy basket falling apart}. while traditionally used for carrying goods to and from the market, I thought it would be perfect for his toys. I got a big one and a little oval shaped one for smaller stuff. and what a great way to bring a little color into your house, right? you can find them various places online {or even locally here in Bend!} but I bought mine from here.

i love these! i have a big one for toys too, and want to get some small ones for the boys easter baskets!
i’ve been coveting these for so long, too. i always see them at whole foods, but we already have so many baskets. they are the best for containing your little one’s stuff! the bright colors and patterns are so cheery.
i just bought a plain one last weekend at the flock and fiber festival. they’re so well-made and lovely. wishing i would have bought a few more!
Ah I went to one of the main villages in Northern Ghana where these are made (the word “bolga” comes from the city–Bolgatanga), and the women who make these are amazing! I’ve never seen such adept hands, weaving such complicated patterns. They really are beautiful!
i’m in love with these baskets. my sister gifted me one last christmas, it gets a lot of farmers market use!
oh, these are so great! thanks for introducing them to me!
