bite + sip : guava ice cream

guava ice cream

I’ve never made my own ice cream but if I were going to make one, I might start here.  growing up in Florida, I ate a lot of guava: fresh, paste, turnovers, amazing cookies, etc. and guava will always have a soft spot on my taste buds.

have you ever made your own ice cream?  how easy or hard is it?  I’ve been thinking about getting an ice cream maker this summer and would love to know some tips.

This sounds so delicious! I too ate my fair share of guava pastries from all the Cuban restaurant walk-up windows and miss them dearly. This would be a great substitute! I have made ice cream (in an ice cream maker) and it’s super easy.

Jeni’s Ice cream recently had a guava jam + cloverton cheese ice cream that was outrageously good. I just checked but it’s gone now. If you haven’t had their ice cream, you should try one of the other flavors!
