one of my most recent favorite shop finds is Accompany – a rad online boutique with focus on stylish apparel and ethically minded production. each item in the shop has a story – whether it be Artisan Made, Fair Trade or Philanthropic – making Accompany truly a one-of-a-kind boutique. the shop is beautifully curated with lots of goods to wishlist and drool over. above is just a sample of my shop favorites. hop over to Accompany to see the shop in it’s entirety.

just recently, Accompany was highlighted in People’s Style Watch as a great stop for Ethical Fashion. pretty exciting, right? you can read the entire article here.

bonus – Accompany is having a Labor Day sale! everything in the sale section is an additional 15% off Friday August 29 through Monday September 1. enter coupon code LABORDAY at checkout. there’s some really great stuff in their sale section – check it out and stock up your shopping cart for Friday’s sale.

WildCraft Studio

WildCraft Studio

WildCraft is a creative space in the Columbia River Gorge, right outside Portland, OR, offering classes, workshops and events to the public.  the genius behind WildCraft is my friend Chelsea Heffner, formerly of plainMADE.  WildCraft has a fantastic line up of workshops scheduled this summer such as Screenprinting 101, Weaving in the Wild and Natural Dyes from Weeds & Wilds.  they just made their Kickstarter goal to help fund the classes and I’m so excited for them!!  check out this beautiful video about WildCraft from their Kickstarter page.

if you’re in Portland, or anywhere near by for that matter, have a look at their schedule of courses and pick something out to attend!  Chelsea tells me they have plans for a late summer Wild Supper, a dinner party with vegetables from their garden and pizza from their own woodfired earth-oven, which I’m hoping to attend.  dreamy, right?  they also have an online shop and are printing limited edition prints for each of the workshops this summer.

Feliz is a collaborative event next weekend in Austin, TX between Natalie Davis and my dear friend Abby Powell and celebrates everything handmade.  the list of vendors looks incredible and the workshops sound so much fun.  I’m so sad that I couldn’t make it as I’d really hoped to but if you’re in the Austin area November 2-4th, you must go!  you can read more about the sale here.

I’ve been everywhere

I recently had the pleasure of contributing to the Everywhere Project, a collaborative design project that pays tribute to the classic folk song “I’ve Been Everywhere”.  the project is curated by designer and illustrator, Adrian Walsh, and he’s rounded up quite a stellar crew of designers to create luggage labels, each representing one of the 92 locations that appear in the American version of the song.  originally, I’d hoped for Idaho, but since it was already claimed, I chose Winslow, Arizona – check out what I said about it here!

did you know that aside from blogging and having the best job in the world of mom, I also do a fair amount of design and illustration?  I specialize in vector graphic illustration, logo design, website design, blog theme design and implementation, invitation design, catalog/lookbook design and more.  if you have a project you’d like to discuss, check out my portfolio and give me a shout.
