I baked carrot muffins today and shared the recipe on Milk Eggs Chocolate. they are sugar free and vegan and really really good. I hope you’re having a nice, relaxing weekend and enjoy the rest of your day.

hello all! I hope you had a nice thanksgiving. I had lots of yummy food and topped it off with samplings of at least 5 different pies. it was nice being away from the city and spending time with family and friends.
I mentioned last week that I’d reached 1000 flickr favorites, and along with my regular posting this week, I’ll be celebrating photography by sharing with you some of my favorite photos from the talents that surround flickr. what better way to start off the week than with one of my favorite topics, food. today’s flickr favorites are all about food, drink and culinary delights. enjoy!

October is my favorite month. it’s what I consider the beginning of fall and it’s what gets me in the mood for the holidays. {I love Halloween and I actually woke up with a Christmas song in my head this morning… if that’s not getting in the mood, I don’t know what is.}
my favorite thing about October is pumpkins! I love love LOVE pumpkin. pumpkin curry, pumpkin black bean soup, pumpkin butter, pumpkin waffles, punkin ale, and of course, pumpkin pie.

I love Heather’s idea for potted banana bread. these little terra cotta gifts turned out so cute. I’m definitely filing this away for future gifts or party favors!

the lovely and talented Helen of Tartlette is hosting this months “Does My Blog Look Good In This”. DMBLGIT is a contest where food bloggers submit pictures of food that they have prepared and photographed. the photographs are reviewed by a panel of judges, who score them in three categories: edibility, aesthetics, and originality. that’s where I come in! I’ve been selected to be one of the judges for the contest! so far the entries not only make my mouth water, but look pretty darn amazing. it’s going to be a tough decision!
as a judge, I’ll be looking at composition and styling as well as originality and unique display. so, if you’re a food blogger or you know someone who is, jump on in! the deadline for submissions is June 23.
