for the dudes : pacific standard bags

for the dudes : pacific standard bags | unruly things

always a fan of the goods coming from Bridge & Burn, it’s no surprise that I found myself wishlisting their newest collection of waxed cotton bags – not only for me, but for my husband too. made in collaboration with Clinton Street Bag Company {more fun stuff on them later!} and handcrafted in the Pacific Northwest.

made of 10oz waterproof waxed canvas with heavy twill reinforced bottoms, super sturdy brass hardware, rain-flaps to keep the PNW weather at bay, the bags are meant to stand up to all the demands of daily life. the backpack has exterior access to the padded laptop sleeve, and the duffle has a snap down, extra-large opening to the main compartment that offers easy access while you pack. they’d be perfect for the dude in your life, plus there’s a tote and a ladies bag, too!

Bridge & Burn x MAKELIKE Hawaii 503

I’m such a fan of the work that Erik does for Bridge & Burn.  and this collab with Portland’s MAKELIFE is no exception.  a Northwest inspired twist on a traditional Hawaiian pattern with Rhododendrons, Dogwood blossoms and Douglas Fir trees, as well as prevelant Northwest lakes, clouds and rain.  just rad.  check them out here!

and if you’re in Portland, head out to the release party tomorrow, night.

shop stop : Frances May – Portland, Oregon

Unruly Things Shop Stop : Frances May - Portland, OR : photos by Anja Verdugo

one of my absolute favorite shops in Portland is Frances May.  I adore the owner, Pam, and her gorgeous shop girls.  each time I stop in, I end up spending at least an hour in the shop, chatting or trying on fancy dresses and shoes.  they recently went through some renovations to expand the fitting rooms and make a fantastic new cash wrap.  this meant expanding the jewelry display – my fave.  Frances May not only carries beautiful clothing, jewelry and accessories for women, but they also carry a great collection of wares for men.  if you’re in Portland, be sure to stop in and if you’re not, shop the online store.

little things : father & son bowties from General Knot

general knot bowties

General Knot makes the best neckties and bowties around – hands down.  and I’m not just being biased because of our little collaboration last year.  they’re truly amazing.  the neckties and bowties are mostly all crafted from vintage and deadstock fabrics going as far back as the World War II era, which makes them truly unique.

I just love these new Father & Son gift sets.  those tiny anchors… way cute.

bridge & burn, fall/winter

UT-bridge&burn1

Bridge & Burn is one of my long time favorites out of Portland.  I’m always anxious to see what they roll out with next.  the line has expanded so much over the years from simply outerwear to now include dresses and sweaters.

I love the styling from these shots from their Fall/Winter photoshoot.  the photos were shot in Forest Park and make me ache for the mossy evergreen forests in Portland.  Bridge & Burn is about to open their first retail space in Downtown Portland this month – exciting!  check out their online shop for more goodness.

*Bridge & Burn is a sponsor to Unruly Things but this is not a sponsored post.  I love posting about companies that are doing their thing and doing it well and Bridge & Burn does just that.  they’ve inspired me for years and I hope you love them too!*
