Someday on New Year’s Eve, I’d like to rent a cabin in Lubec, Maine. Dear friends would come along, and we would stay up all night playing games and telling stories, the way we always do. Just before dawn, everyone would bundle up and set out for West Quoddy Head, the easternmost point of the contiguous United States. We’d watch for the sun to appear, the earliest light of the new year. And then there would be flannel pajamas, blueberry pancakes, hot water bottles and bed.

Since sequins are enjoying their moment beyond of holiday attire, there is no reason not to wear hot pants covered in them to that up coming party. Hi there! This is Ashley with Hither Thither and Baby Mine. I’ve been following along throughout Alyson’s pregnancy, looking forward to meeting her little man and picking up any tips I could along the way for when our little fella makes his debut this summer!
While I know those first weeks might mean reaching for comfy yoga pants and nursing tanks, here’s an outfit I’m adding to my summer wish-list that might help a new, nursing mom feel a little more glamorous.
The requirements? Nothing silky or dry-clean only. Something with easy access. And a summer-weight scarf for the option of added modesty.
The inspiration? An APC tunic dress ensemble from Totokaelo. I’ve added a hat for camouflaging unwashed hair; dark sunglasses for hiding tired eyes–and cool factor; and drawstring pants in case the chambray shirt-dress feels a little short some days. (Here’s a pretty but practical nude nursing bra to pair with it–or a lacier number from Elle Macpherson’s line.)
