for the past 5 months or so, I’ve been working on a little collaborative project which is nearing the final stages now.  so exciting!!  while I’m not quite ready to share more details, I thought I’d let you in on a few inspirational images that I’ve collected.

jamie street photography

jamiestreet

you know what I love most about blogging?  it’s the friends and talented people that you meet along the way.  my pal Jamie, of A Desert Fete, is one talented lady and I’m thrilled to share with you her latest endeavor, Jamie Street Photography.

Jamie and I first connected when we were both pregnant {her little dude Henry was born just over a month before Wolf} and I’m so happy we did.  her creativity and skills behind the lens are so fun to follow.  I love her attention to detail and the intimate moments she captures.  whether it be child & family or travel & lifestyle, she’s got a killer ability with photography.  hire her!  you’ll thank me.

hoping to end up behind your lens soon, Jamie!

currently coveting…

bolga

I’ve been obsessing over these Ghana bolga baskets for quite awhile now.  I finally ordered a few yesterday {after a little prodding by Wolf’s current toy basket falling apart}.  while traditionally used for carrying goods to and from the market, I thought it would be perfect for his toys.  I got a big one and a little oval shaped one for smaller stuff.  and what a great way to bring a little color into your house, right?  you can find them various places online {or even locally here in Bend!} but I bought mine from here.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about our home.  maybe it’s because now that I’m freelancing and staying at home with my son, I’m actually HERE more often.  and I want it to look great and be functional.  lately I think a lot about the backyard.  we’ve got a HUGE space.  and we hardly utilize it!  I began drawing up plans for raised beds, a hammock, a play area for Wolf, etc, etc, and dlb convinced me to slow down.  since we’re renting, it doesn’t make sense to spend a ton of time sprucing up the back yard, however, I do see us living here at least through next summer and possibly until we’re ready to buy a home of our own.  so a little sprucing is totally acceptable, right?

sun prints

sunprint-intro

ever since I saw this pin on a beautiful sun print tutorial, I haven’t been able to get sun printing out of my head.  I’ve ordered silk sun print fabric and have worked out a deal with the neighbors down the street to pick some of their poppies in trade for something sun printed.

while doing a little research today, I came across these beautiful hand sun printed fabrics from South Africa.  so pretty, right?
