“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

oh man.  what a rough week this was!!  Wolf had a terrible time re-adjusting to his schedule after our trip and is finally showing signs that he’s back on track.  he forgot that he knew how to fall asleep with no tears and decided that 10pm was a good bedtime rather than 8!

but despite the tears we’ve had this week, we’ve had plenty of laughter and lots of smiles.  and singing!  while we were on our trip, Wolf started singing songs, Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jingle Bells and the cutest of all – his ABCs.  I’ve been trying to capture him singing for days now on video and finally was able to sneak up behind him yesterday and shoot this gem:

Wolf sings the ABCs

dang, I’m a proud mama.  and to think, this is just the beginning.  if you’d like to see more photos from previous weeks, you can see them below the cut.

a printable valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope your day is filled with love and sweetness.  I never cared too much for Valentine’s Day until this year.  Wolf has two Valentines – lucky guy!!  and to see how excited he got when he opened up their cards just filled my heart with love.  today he colored and stickered some cards to give to the girls at the daycare he goes to.

in spirit, I also created this fun, printable Valentine’s Day word search for the Ergobaby blog.  download it for free here!  sending love your way and hope you get something sweet today.

“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

the other day I decided to dig my beloved keyboard out of it’s hiding spot in the garage and let Wolf play.  he flipped.  and even though most of the time he’s playing with the metronome or plopping down on the low notes with the volume all the way up, I think he’s really appreciating it.  he dances when I play or he sits down next to me and we bang out a little duet.  I have no idea when he’ll actually be able to understand the piano or let me teach him a few things but I can’t wait.

this kid.  he’s just the best.  I love hearing him talk and exploring new words.  his little voice is so cute.  Legos {or yegos as he calls them} are currently his favorite toy ever.  we build towers, trains, animal farms, you name it.  and it totally reminds me of being a kid!  when ever I’d stay home sick from school my mom would bring out the Legos and I’d dump them on the floor in the living room and build stuff for hours.  so fun.

“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

participating lightly in this series makes me realize how much I miss my SLR.  and how it’s just sitting on the counter in the kitchen waiting to be mailed to Nikon for a diagnosis of it’s fate.  this sure is the kick in the pants I need to send it off.  I know I’ll miss having more digital photos of Wolf once he’s bigger.

Wolf is just SO full of words these days.  I ask him to say something and he repeats it back to me.  it’s such a fantastic milestone.  he can actually ask for things, tell me stuff, or interact with me.  I love it.

is it just me or does the second year fly past so much faster than the first?
