guest post : favorites from instagram

@carissajg

while my family and I are enjoying fun in the sun in the Philippines, I’ve asked a few of my favorite ladies to contribute a little guest post for Unruly Things.  this post is from Amanda Jane Jones

I’m new to fairly new to Instagram—started my own account last May—and immediately wondered how I ever lived without it! I’m hooked. Over the past couple months, I’ve really fallen in love with a number of feeds. I’ve featured three of my favorites. I’m inspired by the simple moments they capture and their beautiful points of view.

thanks so much Amanda!  I’m hooked to Instagram too – follow along on our adventure if you like!

I just finished up a logo design for one of my dearest friends, Amy Nieto, for her photography business.  she wanted her logo to be simple and classic while fun and uplifting.  I love Amy’s tag line, “celebrate happiness” as it embodies her completely!

I was lucky that she brought her camera around with her almost always and we snagged a few impromptu sessions behind the lens while living in Portland.  we met her in the park last fall for a mini photo session.  look how little Wolf is!  if you’re in Portland – hire her to take your family photos!!  she’s such a wonderful person and her photography is killer.

interested in working with me on a project?  have a look at my portfolio and get in touch.

you know what I love most about blogging?  it’s the friends and talented people that you meet along the way.  my pal Jamie, of A Desert Fete, is one talented lady and I’m thrilled to share with you her latest endeavor, Jamie Street Photography.

Jamie and I first connected when we were both pregnant {her little dude Henry was born just over a month before Wolf} and I’m so happy we did.  her creativity and skills behind the lens are so fun to follow.  I love her attention to detail and the intimate moments she captures.  whether it be child & family or travel & lifestyle, she’s got a killer ability with photography.  hire her!  you’ll thank me.

hoping to end up behind your lens soon, Jamie!

family photos

wolf lisa warninger

last week, we headed down to the Cleaners space at the Ace Hotel for a fun family photoshoot with Lisa Warninger. the photos turned out so great, I couldn’t resist sharing a few with you.

the Northwest themed set was styled by Lauren Hartmann and was so cute – and totally us! there was even a Pendleton throw, framed fern print and pinecones in a jar. it was like our home away from home. Wolf was in an amazing mood and the pictures totally show it. plus it totally helps that Lisa’s a genius behind the camera.

Lisa is a Portland based photographer specializing in lifestyle, fashion and on-location shooting. be sure to check out her Portland street style blog Urban Weeds or her website for some more beautiful photos. thanks again, Lisa!!

summer goals

summer goals

last year I posted about this rad tumblr blog called Summer Goals.  it’s edited by two Portland pals, Anne & Christie, documenting summer and all it’s glory.  I’m excited to announce that not only did these two ladies publish a book, but I’m happy to have contributed a few photos to it! the official book launch party is tonight in Portland {which I’m sad to miss!} and with other amazing photographers contributing, Anabela and Kate to name a few, it’s bound to be amazing.

the book is available for purchase here.  let’s hold on to summer!
