I’ve just updated Postal Press with some fun new things, including a limited edition Imagination Poster as well as some new customizable stationery. see what’s new here.

I’ve been having fun printing on manila tags. I printed an edition tag to include with the Imagination Poster which turned out really great. I also just finished a save the date for two of my friends that I letterpressed onto the tag. I thought would be really cute if the tags were hung from calendars to save their date. the tags were attached to a digitally printed card and wrapped with a little piece of paper to instruct how to use it. I thought they turned out really cute and I’ve decided to list a set in my shop if you’d like a fun, unique way to send out your save the date too!
I thought I’d share with you some recent work I’ve done for Postal Press. aside from printing my little heart out with orders for custom initial cards, I printed up these baby announcements over the holidays for a dear friend of mine who had her sweet little boy in mid-December. she fell in love with my specimen calendar and since bugs are a bit of a little boy thing, I thought of the idea for a little parade of bugs.
lots of new things in store for Postal Press this year, including *finally* that Imagination poster, new initial cards, and many other things. thanks so much for your continued support!
also, I’ve updated the Seventy & Sunny blog with some recent blog header and postcard designs as well!
I’ve just added a few more of my 2010 Specimen Calendar to my shop. the registration on the month of November {which is the yellow comet moth above} gave me such a hard time, and I lost lots of prints because of it. I’d had plans of reprinting it before Christmas but never got the time. so… I’m considering this tiny batch “seconds” because the colors on the month of November only are slightly off from centered. the rest of the calendar is in tip top, first rate quality. I’m selling these for $28 as opposed to the original price of $38 and there are only a few in the shop so if you want one, grab it quick.
and thanks again for all your support!!

Marta is hosting a series of giveaway’s on her blog this month. each day is from a new vendor and up today is my little shop, Postal Press. I’m giving away two animal journals, the popular red rooster and a new size not yet in the shop, the mini yellow duck. click on over to her blog, the giveaway ends tonight.

hello friends, we made it back safely from the Philippines. we had such a wonderful trip and as soon as I upload our photos, I’ll share them with you here. both dlb and I have caught a terrible cold, leaving us pretty useless this week. so I’m pretty sure I’ll be back tomorrow but until then, here’s a bit of news:
I updated a few things over at Postal Press, including some holiday cards and a little holiday packaging set. supplies are very limited, so please order early.
also, on the note of the holidays, if you’re planning to order any custom initial cards, which make great gifts, we’ve updated our holiday order and shipping deadlines here.
I’ll be posting again this month to the habit blog, along with the 33 amazing contributers who posted throughout this year. it’s sure to be a lovely treat. check it out.
hope you all had a wonderfully yummy Thanksgiving.

in case you haven’t already noticed, I’m uber inspired by specimen, botanical and medical art. due to the amazing response to the 2010 specimen calendar, I’ve been working on some new scientific items for the shop. the beetle books and other specimen journals have a dark brown woodgrain binding and are filled with fifty sheets of natural kraft paper. they will be available in the shop next week along with a very small collection of holiday goods.
I’m still working out the details for the eye chart print. it says, appropriately “Imagination is more important than knowledge” – an incredible quote by Albert Einstein. I’d love to letterpress it, but I haven’t decided on that yet. I’ve had this digitally printed copy hanging on my wall for a week or two now, and everytime I see it, I imagine how cool it would be printed on a 220lb cotton paper with a nice, deep impression… swoon, details next week.
if you were planning on purchasing the specimen calendar, I’ve only got 6 left. thank you so so much for your purchases so far!

packaged and ready to ship. we’re waiting on the flat mailers we ordered forever ago from USPS to arrive, so orders will ship out as soon as they are here!! wholesale orders will ship out tomorrow.

thanks so much to Grace from Design Sponge for posting about it this morning! that absolutely made my day.

one of our wholesale accounts for Postal Press is the brand new retail space inside the lovely studio of cevd paper in Los Alamos, California. Christine just had her studio opening a few weeks ago and shared some photos of the shop on her blog today. doesn’t the space look dreamy?
