52 weeks of Wolf : 19.52 + the view from 36 inches

52 weeks of Wolf : 19.52 / photo by Alyson Brown, Unruly Things

I’m excited to share with you two videos of Wolf today along with our usual weekly photo.  this past month, I partnered with Seventh Generation for their Campaign for a Toxin-Free Generation.  the campaign is designed to celebrate how liberating life can be without toxins, not only for us as parents but especially for those little guys.  you know, the ones that are 36 inches tall.

Seventh Generation offers truly effective home, body and baby care products that are free of parabens, 1,4-dioxane, or other concerning ingredients.  and if you’re a parent of a toddler, you know good and well that life can get pretty messy and involve lots of clean up.  it’s comforting to know that the products I’m using to clean our home {or Wolf for that matter} are safe and toxin-free.

Seventh Generation invited me to participate in their campaign and sent us a GoPro camera to get a glimpse of life from Wolf’s view at 36 inches.  we got outside.  we rode bikes rather than driving.  we let him get dirty.  and we lived toxin-free.  I hope you enjoy!

would you like to participate too?  post a video or photo of your kids being kids and Seventh Generation will donate $1 in your name to Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE)*.  WVE strives to create a world in which everyone lives in a healthy environment, free from chemicals of concern. *up to $15,000

little things : ace & jig kids

Ace & Jig kids / Unruly Things

you guys, I am so excited about the kids collection from Ace & Jig that I just couldn’t wait until my regular little things day and had to share it with you immediately.  mini baja hoodies?  little boardwalk dresses?  comfy rolled pants?  it’s just too much.

I just love that photo of Cary and Jenna, the ladies {and mamas} behind Ace & Jig, with their kiddos.  super cute, right?

the first collection is hitting stores this summer.

show me your stack : Rony Vardi

show me your stack : series on Unruly Things, photo from Rony Vardi of Catbird

fellow ring lovers unite!!  today kicks off another new series on UT called Show me your Stack in which I’ve asked some of my favorite ladies to share photos of their ring-adorned fingers.  first up is Rony Vardi, the owner of Catbird, one of my favorite haunts for pretty rings and other jewels.

from Rony…
I am currently in love with my Rose Gold Tomboy ring (on the first knuckle of my wedding finger) because it is SO easy to wear, is the prettiest shade of pink and catches the light just so. It adds the exact right edge to my ever-evolving ring stack.  I have a special place in my heart for the Elisa Solomon Ancienne Ring (pointer finger) because it is the first really special (read: fancy) ring I bought for myself. I never take it off and it continues to dazzle me.

I’m excited about this new series, how about you?  if you’re interested in sharing your stack, shoot me an email at hello {at} unruly-things {dot} com.

Mother’s Day event with Anthropologie

Unruly Things Mother’s Day event with Anthropologie #anthroevents

this past weekend, I hosted a Mother’s Day DIY event with Anthropologie in Portland.  we made kokedama string gardens with gorgeous orchids that I picked up from Portland Nursery.  the ladies at Anthropologie were amazing to work with!  the space set up for us was beautiful.  we had yummy treats to eat and even mimosas to sip on.  we had lots of fun making a pretty mess and getting our hands dirty making our kokedama.  all the attendees {25 ladies and 1 brave guy!} ended up with some beautiful kokedama to give to their mothers or hang in their own homes.

little things : little girls

J Crew for little girls / Unruly Things

a few of my friends have noticed that I’ve been posting little girl stuff quite often lately.  firstly, no – I’m not pregnant again, at least not yet.  ;)  but I admit, while I’d love for Wolf to have a little brother, the thought of having a little girl is pretty fun.  I mean, come on.  look at this cute little outfit!  I just couldn’t help putting it together this morning.

this past weekend in Portland, I met one of my favorite photographers and long time internet friends, Kallie Brynn and BONUS, her adorable little girl, Tova.  as we were walking back from our sugar rush at Salt & Straw, Tova reached out and wanted to hold my hand.  melt!  as we walked, Kallie snapped this photo of us.  super cute, right?

wow.  this has been a rough week.  my almost two year old is definitely showing his almost two year old colors.  tantrums, screaming and the opinions!!  his newest phrase of choice is “don’t like it.”  for everything.  just when I thought things were getting easier.

thankfully, this little grump let me chase him around with my camera today.  so I leave you with not only one photo this week, but a few.
