I’m not ready to admit that fall is on the way. especially when it’s still blazing hot outside. but that doesn’t stop me from obsessing over the latest autumn/winter collections popping up everywhere.

I just ADORE this collection from Kira Kids. that love onesie, those pretzel tees and that blue taxi shirt?! way too cute.

show me your stack : betsy & iya production staff

show me your stack : betsy & iya production staff |unruly things

today’s stack comes from the lovely production staff at betsy & iya, a favorite Portland-based jewelry collection. first off, how fantastic is this image? I gasped when I opened my email. so good, right?! I’m dying over those bracelet stacks! here’s what the production staff has to say about their stacks…

We thought it’d be awesome to show our Production Staff’s respective stacks while holding some of the tools and materials we work with everyday. These are the hands that make your betsy & iya jewelry, so it’s only fitting that they are well adorned, too!

Collectively, we share a “pile it on” mentality, even if it means having to “pile it all off” when the jewelry making gets down and dirty sometimes. betsy & iya pieces are obviously well represented here, but there is an awesome mix of vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces, and hand-me-downs that each tell an incredible story.

For people who work with their hands for a living, it makes our jobs even more enjoyable to look down and see a visual representation of people we know, memories we’ve made, and most likely, some of our own handiwork.

L to R: Kate (Shipping Assistant/Maker), Alyssa (Maker), Barrie (Maker/Assistant Buyer), Betsy (Owner & Designer), Matt (Maker)

thanks so much, you guys!! you’ve set the bar pretty high for the seriesdo you or someone you know have an amazing stack that you’d like to share? submit photos of your ring adorned fingers to hello {at} unruly-things {dot} com.

scenes from our weekend : adventure to Todd Lake

bits of our weekend : adventure to Todd Lake | photos by Alyson Brown for Unruly Things over the weekend we headed to one of our very favorite nearby hikes – Todd Lake. I always describe this hike as magical because it’s just that. exciting for all ages, especially kiddos.

this time of year the wildflowers are in full bloom, which Wolf adores. and what’s even more exciting is that there are thousands of tadpoles in the lake. they’re illegal to take home, but plenty of fun to gently poke at and scoop into little hands to be put back into the water safely. we all wore our Tevas and waded around in the water which was a blast. next time I think we’ll take out bathing suits, at least one for Wolf since he was soaking wet by the end of the hike.

I definitely recommend Todd Lake to any newcomers or visitors to Bend. the views are outstanding and the hike is one of the best around.

show me your stack : blanca monrós-gómez

show me your stack : blanca monrós-gómez |unruly things

today’s stack comes from one of my long-time favorite jewelry designers, Blanca Monrós-Gómez. her delicate collections constantly top my favorites list. Blanca just debuted a new collection which naturally I’m dying over, especially this thick wavy band. here’s what she has to say about her stack…

I like choosing different styles that go together but don’t necessarily match perfectly. It makes the stack a little bit more playful and spontaneous. If there are a couple of thicker bands I would add another few that are thinner, as the different dimensions create a more interesting look. Also I think it’s important to play with the finishes of the pieces: a few sparkly diamonds can be nicely balanced with simpler pieces such as our thin stacking bands. They are perfect to create a layered look without having too much bulk. We just added a new version of the thin stacking bands with a hammered matte finish and I think it’s the perfect little touch to make a ring stack really special!

beautiful, right? thanks so much, Blanca!
