While my family and I are enjoying fun in the sun in the Philippines, I’ve asked a few of my favorite ladies to contribute a little guest post for Unruly Things. first up – Kelly from Design Crush.
Hi there, Unruly Things! It’s Kelly from Design Crush, popping in for a quick hello while Alyson is off gallivanting and being adventurous on the other side of the world.
Keeping things in the vein of travel, there’s no doubt that you’ve heard of the Ace Hotel.
The modern Bohemian boutique has locations in New York City, Palm Springs, Portland, Seattle, and Los Angeles, and pride themselves on taking existing buildings and the area’s culture to the next level.
They also have an online shop brimming over with just the sort of things you would expect – quality leather goods, music, and super soft attire among others.
These are just a few of my favorites, click over to the Ace Hotel Shop to check out the rest!
Since Alyson’s big day is today, I thought I’d share a tiny bit of advice for any other newlyweds out there – write love letters.
My husband and I have been married for more than two years, and my husband still sends me little love notes every now and then. The timing is totally random, and every time one shows up – either in our mailbox or as a note left on a pillow or desktop – I can’t help but smile.
My husband and I see each other every single day and it can be easy to get bogged down by all the things that go into daily life – cleaning our apartment, paying bills, running errands on the weekends.
These little notes are a sweet reminder of our love for each other and the fact that we chose to spend the rest of our lives together, both the fun parts and the not-so-fun parts.
I’ve kept every single note in a little box on my bedside table and every time I look through that box I realize all over again why he’s the perfect person for me.
